Why is it that I always look for you at such times?

When it is constantly raining for three days

Hot vapors rise from the cup of ginger tea

Smoke rises from the cool ice-burst cigarette in the other hand

Lata Mangeshkar peacefully sings 'Lag Jaa Gale'

The world is at a stand-still in awe of nature

Looking at it and just being there, Remembering it

I sit beneath the world tree, just at the top of the universe

With my eyes closed, deep into the song, feeling every word

With two puffs and a sip, obviously, the golden rule is followed

Just as I bring the cup down, an extremely cool breeze slaps my face

And from the top of the universe, I'm instantly teleported to the Heavens

You don't need to die to find your way into heaven

All you need to do is believe

Heaven exists for everyone differently

For some, it exists after death

For me, Heaven is you. Just you.

With my eyes closed, and Lata Tai singing the dearest song to my heart,

All I can think of is you

All the beautiful memories, real or made up, gush in straight away

And even though one can argue that I was "intoxicated"

I can't stop smiling thinking about you

All these rain drops, or the faint dew droplets on the newly born leaves,

The pollen carried by the wind,

The smoke rising from the thrown-away cigarette filter

The vapor from the almost empty cup

The rush of excessive nicotine

The cool breeze flowing ever so slightly

The voice of Lata Mangeshkar slowly transitions into that of her sister and the song begins to end

I open my eyes slowly still sitting under the world tree,

Only now there is a universe around me instead of beneath me

Only now I'm close to missing the in-time of the uni and in turn getting my out pass blocked for a whole week

Only now the sun has completely set and the moon shivers alone in the cool night sky

Only now upon opening my eyes, you are sitting right in front of me

Laughing at me, smiling irresistibly, in my own thought

Calling my name out for the past two minutes

Holding my hand, as we make a run for the possibility of another

Heavenly meet next week

"If only I knew, the world tree also deems mortal wishes to be true."
