Individual Personality
Two words both 5 syllables each
The world tells you that you should have one
You should be different from the rest
But do they really exist?
Is there someone really with an Individual Personality?
Is someone different than the rest of us?
I believe otherwise
For me, every single person is an impersonator
It's just that we copy from so many things
That the result is unique
At the core, every single person is just an impression of the lives they encountered
But generalizing is a bad thing I've known in recent times
So I write only for myself
When I was born I was an empty canvas
But since I lack drawing skills
Let's call my life a 22 by 16 mm reel
An empty reel waiting for the shutter to be opened
Waiting to capture 24 frames
From the moment I was born I started recording
And I still haven't stopped
The red light still blinks in the corner
And the reel is spinning continuously
You give names to my personality
Nerdy, Boring, Funny, Nice, Rude, or maybe an Asshole
I'm all of it yet neither of it
You say I have a unique identity
I say I'm a mosaic of everything I ever understood
My reel contains every movie I ever watched
Every poem I ever read
Every book I ever felt
A character that I loved
A character I hated
A scene I was thrilled to watch
A moment I cried in
Every little detail is in that one reel
I can't call myself an Individual
What I am is a mixture of several creations
The Brainchild of several artists
People strive for an Individual Personality all their lives
I wish they could just record and see
The world is already built around them
All they need to do is live
I carry my mosaic with me
Hopefully to my grave
Untouched, unseen
My movie dies with me.
A Film shot in the Academy Ratio.
I want an Oscar engraved in my Tombstone
"Here lies the Best Film The Mosaic of little things"
